NU Honours Admission Result 2026

The admission result process does not end with one list. There are 5 separate stages — each giving more students a chance at securing a seat. Missing any stage’s deadline means losing that opportunity permanently.

1st Merit List

The 1st Merit List is the first and most competitive selection round. Students with the highest merit scores in their applied subject at their applied college are selected first.

If you are selected, complete your Final Admission Form and pay your admission fee within the deadline NU announces at publication. No extensions are granted — ever.

2nd Merit List

The 2nd Merit List fills seats vacated after the 1st Merit List — left empty by students who did not confirm their admission in time. If you were not selected in the 1st Merit List, you automatically remain eligible — no separate action is needed. The 1st Migration Result is published alongside the 2nd Merit List, so check both your result status and migration status at the same time.

Quota Merit List

The Quota Merit List is a separate selection round reserved for freedom fighter quota and other officially recognised reserved categories. Have valid supporting documents ready before this round — NU does not accept late document submissions. The 2nd Migration Result is published alongside the Quota Merit List.

1st Release Slip

The 1st Release Slip is for students not selected in any merit list or quota list. Seats available here are those remaining after all merit list confirmation windows close. You must apply separately within NU’s announced window — it is not automatic. College and subject options are limited to whatever vacant seats remain at that point.

2nd Release Slip

The 2nd Release Slip is the final opportunity in the entire NU Honours Admission 2025–26 process. Only seats left vacant after the 1st Release Slip confirmation window are offered here. Once this window closes, no further admission opportunity exists for this session.

How to Calculate Your Estimated Score

Step 1 — Count your correct MCQ answers:
Match your answers against the solution above. Each correct answer = 1 mark. Wrong answers = 0 (no negative marking).

Step 2 — Calculate your GPA conversion score:

  • SSC GPA × 8 = your SSC contribution (max 40)
  • HSC GPA × 12 = your HSC contribution (max 60)

Step 3 — Add both scores:

Estimated Merit Score = MCQ Marks + SSC (GPA × 8) + HSC (GPA × 12)

Worked Example

  • MCQ Score: 72 out of 100
  • SSC GPA 4.50 × 8 = 36
  • HSC GPA 4.75 × 12 = 57
  • Estimated Total = 72 + 36 + 57 = 165 out of 200

What is NU Admission Migration?

Migration is one of the most misunderstood parts of the NU admission process. If you understand how it works, it can automatically upgrade your admission — without any extra effort from your side.

Migration always moves upward — you will never be moved to a less preferred option. The system works entirely in your favour, or not at all.

Who Is Eligible for Migration?

You are eligible only if both of the following are true:

  • You are already confirmed via a merit list — unselected students are not eligible
  • You opted in to migration during the Final Admission Form fill-up

If you did not tick the migration option during form submission, you are excluded from migration.

How Migration Works — Step by Step

You do not need to do anything manually. Here is exactly what happens:

  1. After each merit list confirmation window closes, some seats become vacant
  2. NU’s system scans all opted-in confirmed students
  3. It checks if a higher-preference subject or college seat is now vacant for each eligible student
  4. If a match is found → you are automatically migrated — no action needed from your side
  5. Your updated admission details appear on admission portal dashboard.

FAQs

The NU Honours 1st Merit List 2026 is expected in the 1st week of May 2026, following the Honours Admission Test on April 25.

Type NU ATHN [Your Application ID] and send to 16222 from any mobile network in Bangladesh. Example: NU ATHN 1234567. You will receive your result status within minutes.

You must score at least 35 out of 100 in the MCQ admission test to qualify. Scoring below 35 disqualifies you from all merit lists, quota lists, and release slips — regardless of your SSC or HSC GPA.

Migration is NU’s automatic system that upgrades your confirmed admission to a more preferred subject or college when a seat becomes available. You must opt in during the Final Admission Form fill-up — after that, no manual action is needed. See the full NU Admission Migration 2026 section above for complete details.

You still have more opportunities — the Quota Merit List, 1st Release Slip, and 2nd Release Slip.
